------------------------------------------------ Super Mario Advance - Music Pitch Correction v1.0 by Mister Man ------------------------------------------------ Introduction ------------------------------------------------ In Super Mario Advance, all the songs that came from the SNES (Super Mario All-Stars) version of "Super Mario Bros. 2 / USA" had their pitch slightly increased. To achieve this, the developers included a command in the song's data that modifies its pitch to what is heard in-game. This hack edits all instances of said command so the pitch of the songs is no longer increased, making them sound closer to the SNES version. ------------------------------------------------ Changelog ------------------------------------------------ v1.0 ------------------------------------------------ * Removed the increased pitch of all the songs that originated from the SNES version of "Super Mario Bros. 2 / USA". ------------------------------------------------ Patching ------------------------------------------------ To apply these patches, any program that supports the IPS patch format (like LunarIPS) is required. Please note that the abbreviations in the end of each filename indicates which version of the game is the patch compatible with: * "_JPN.ips" * Super Mario Advance - Super Mario USA + Mario Brothers (Japan). * Super Mario Advance - Super Mario USA + Mario Brothers (Japan) (Virtual Console). * "_USA_KIOSK.ips" * Super Mario Advance (USA) (Demo) (Kiosk). * "_USA.ips" * Super Mario Advance (USA, Europe). * Super Mario Advance (USA, Europe) (Virtual Console). * "_CHN.ips" * Chaoji Maliou 2 (China). ------------------------------------------------ Tools used ------------------------------------------------ * Hex Workshop * LunarIPS * mGBA
