Chaos Engine IPS patch 3rd March 2016 by fusaru made with HivePAL, Gens Tracer ==Purpose of the patch== Changes the game's colors so that they reflect the Amiga version (not AGA colors) more closely. Also changes the region to NYSC-U and the music speed so it doesn't play too fast ==Usage== Apply the included IPS file to the ROM (e.g. via Retron 5, dedicated program such as "StealthPatch IPS Patcher"). If you get a red screen, the checksum needs to be fixed. Programs such as ESE FixCheckSum can do this for you. ==Notes== *only works with the PAL version, not with Soldiers of Fortune *make sure your system is set to NTSC-U region to play the game without problems *the original Amiga version is almost pure pastel colors. SEGA's 16bit machine can't do those very well, so this optimized version is still very "colorful" compared to the Amiga original *for HivePAL users that want to improve this or do their own colors F18 Workshops Main Palette F38 Swamp Enemies F58 Workshops Enemies F78 Main Menu Weapons F98 Fortesquemansion Main Palette FB8 Fortesquemansion Hunchback, Big Hand FD8 Select Players text FF8 just black 1018 Swamp Main Palette 1038 Cellars Main Palette 1058 one or two players text, world text, stage text 1078 1098 10B8 10D8 Shop Screen 10f8 just white 1118 Stage clear screen 1138 Character select 1158 Main Menu background gears 1178 Swamp Player Sprites 1198 11B8 Workshop Player Sprites 11D8 Portraits Select Menu, Stage Clear Screen, Power Up Screen 11F8 Opening Brigand 1218 Opening Mercenary 1238 Opening Gentleman 1258 Opening Navvie 1278 Opening Thug 1298 Opening Scientist (Preacher) 12B8 12D8 Background intro screen 12F8 Fortesquemansion Player Sprites 1318 1338 1358 1378 1398 Text intro screen 13B8 Cellars robots 13D8 Cellars Player Sprites 13F8 Swamp Items, Pause Screen, Node, effects 1418 Workshops Items, Pause Screen, Node, effects 1438 Fortesquemansion Items, Pause Screen, Node, effects 1458 Cellars Items, Pause Screen, Node, effects 1478 1498 ???Spectrum Holobye logo???? 14B8 15B8 Title screen, ending screen and first OP screen are compressed, as well as their palettes ==legal stuff== Do whatever you want with these files, it's just a hobby.
