Super Mario Bros. 3 - No Autoscrolls Version 1.0 By FCoughlin and Macobra52 ------------------------------------------ Patching Information ------------------------------------------ The IPS included in this distribution is specifically for Super Mario Bros. 3 USA -- use Lunar IPS to patch. Original ROM information: Super Mario Bros. 3 (U) (PRG1) [!].nes CRC-16: CF5C CRC-32: 0B742B33 MD-5: 86D1982FEA7342C0AF9679DDF3869D8D SHA-1: 6BD518E85EB46A4252AF07910F61036E84B020D1 SHA-256: 4377A7F5E6EB50BDD2AC6F249BF1A7085500ACA8EB41F38545C3A2731C51A579 ------------------------------------------ Description ------------------------------------------ Super Mario Bros. 3 is already an amazing game, but some levels just take a bit too long to complete. This hack addresses this by patching out all of the autoscrolling, allowing you to complete those levels at you own pace! This affects all of the normal levels with autoscrolling (such as 1-4 and 3-6), castles (due to limitations you start each of these levels directly on the airship, skipping the Toad cutscene), and the world 8 military stages. Note that there are two IPS patches. Due to the nature of level 5-9 it is impossible to complete without a P-wing or tail with the autoscrolling disabled. If you would prefer to not have this requirement use the (Except 5-9) patch to retain the autoscrolling in this level only. Levels modified: 1-4 (Some platforms moved to decrease difficulty) World 1 Castle World 2 Castle 3-6 World 3 Castle World 4 Castle 5-6 (Some Para-beetles moved to decrease difficulty) 5-9 (optional) World 5 Castle 6-2 6-7 World 6 Castle 7-4 (Jelectro moved down to retain difficulty) World 7 Castle 8-Tank 8-Ship 8-Airforce 8-Tank 2 ------------------------------------------ Credits ------------------------------------------ Special thanks to FCoughlin for the majority of the adjustments and fixes necessary to make this possible.
