Ultima Exodus (USA) Music patch by Fox Cunning VERSION 1.00 --- INSTRUCTIONS --- This hack is provided in the form of an IPS patch file. Most emulators natively support this format and will load the patch file as long as it has the same name as the original ROM file (but with the .IPS extension). You can also create a patched ROM file using one of these utilities: https://www.marcrobledo.com/RomPatcher.js/ https://hack64.net/tools/patcher.php https://fusoya.eludevisibility.org/lips/ --- HACK DESCRIPTION --- The Japanese release of the game has music from renown pop composer Tatsutoshi Goto, which is excellent in its own right, but many people prefer the music made by Ken Arnold for the original home computer release of the game. This patch contains my personal arrangements of Ken Arnold's music, adapted for the NES hardware. Almost all of the music is taken from the Commodore 64 version of Ultima III, with the addition of "Captain Johne's Hornpipe" from Ultima V. In addition, a small bug that affected how the volume envelopes of each instrument is used will also been fixed by this patch. Another bug with the implementation of sound effects is also fixed for completeness, although it only affected one particular sound effect that is not used in game. --- NOTES --- This patch should work on the original USA version of the ROM, as well as on the Remastered hack previously released. Your saved games will not be impacted, as long as you do not rename the ROM file since most emulators need to match that to its own RAM save file. --- CONTACTS --- E-Mail: fox.cunning@mail.co.uk Twitter: @FoxCunning2 RHDN Forums: https://www.romhacking.net/forum/index.php?action=pm;sa=send;u=79104
