Donkey Kong: Anniversary Collection information guide This is a compilation of ROM hacks for the Donkey Kong ports for the NES made for the games' respective 40th anniversaries. More information below, as well as a guide on how to play it. How to Play: To play this hack, you'll need an NES emulator, such as FCEUX or Nestopia, as well as a ROM patcher, such as Flips. If you have an emulator and a ROM patcher (and know how to use them), you're good to go! Differences: Donkey Kong: Added shading to the girders in 25m and 75m All sprites and tiles are now identical to the arcade version (or as close as they can get) Corrected some minor sprite errors Made palette changes where needed (with the exception of the cement tub palette for 50m, which is apparently load-bearing) Title screen logo is now identical to the arcade version Donkey Kong Jr.: Changed sprites to match the arcade version Snapjaw sprites have been redrawn to look more similar to the arcade sprites More palette changes Donkey Kong 3: Stanley and post-Phase 9 Buzzbee have been heavily edited to look more like their arcade sprites Donkey Kong's chest-banging sprite has been edited to add shading to his other leg and make his head look less weird Donkey Kong's sprites are otherwise unchanged Most other sprites have been edited to fix mistakes and make them look more like the arcade sprites Countless palette changes Donkey Kong Version 1.1 Changelog: Removed unnecessary changes Made sprites and palettes identical to the arcade version wherever possible Removed differences between the two versions Donkey Kong Jr. Version 1.0 Changelog: Initial release Donkey Kong 3 Version 1.0 Changelog: Initial release Notes: The Donkey Kong hack actually dates back to June 2021, though I just now decided to update it. I made the Donkey Kong 3 hack a year early because I felt like it. (it's not like many people will care about that game's anniverary, anyway.) The page only shows the ROM you need for one version of the Donkey Kong hack, so here are the ROMs you need for the rest of the hacks: Donkey Kong: Original Edition (as far as I know, there's only one version of this ROM) Donkey Kong Jr. (World, Rev. 1) Donkey Kong 3 (World) Combined development time: About 5 days Donkey Kong is a property of Nintendo. This hack and its creator are not affiliated with them in any way. Please don't steal this hack and claim it to be your own.
