1. Using the patcher
------------------------------------

There are two patchers:

* Memory card patcher (memcard patcher.exe)
    This patcher enables the Dengeki Store area to be accessed from the save 
    file. You have to patch your memory card before you can access the Dengeki
    Store. By default, it creates a copy of the memory card instead of
    overwriting it, though this behaviour can be suppressed.

* BIN patcher (dengeki patcher.exe)
    This patcher makes the necessary changes to the BIN file. It adds 
    translations and missing files to the area. It always creates a new copy
    of the BIN file.

+++ 1.1 Compatibility +++
The patcher is currently designed to work with only the North American release
of the game (SLUS-01324).

++++ 1.1.1 Save files ++++
Save files generated by the memory card patcher will work on the vanilla
version of the game. This will allow you to access the Dengeki Store area
without any translations applied.
Its compatibility with the uncensored hack can be checked using the 
compatibility table of the uncensored hack.

+++ 1.2 Patching the image +++
1. Open the BIN patcher
2. Select the BIN file you want to patch
3. Press "Patch!" and the patcher will generate a new BIN file in the same
   folder as the patcher called "Breath of Fire IV Dengeki.bin" along with a 
   matching .cue file

+++ 1.3 Patching the memory card +++
1. Open the memory card patcher
2. Select the memory card file you want to patch. These files normally have
   the file extensions .mcd, .mcr, or .srm
3. Use the checkboxes to select which save slots you want to patch
4. If you wish to overwrite the memory card file, disable "Do not overwrite"
5. Press "Patch!"

After you have done all the steps above, you can then go to the Dengeki Store
through a path that leads south from Mt. Glom, then heads west.

2. How the lottery works
------------------------------------

You can find two Manillo merchants in the Dengeki store. The blue Manillo 
sells weapons and items. The orange Manillo is the lottery merchant. From him,
you can buy lottery tickets to play in the lottery.

The lottery works like so:
1. There are three prizes. The third prize is 3,000 zenny, the second is
   30,000 zenny, and the first is 300,000 zenny.
2. You buy ticket(s). Each time you buy a ticket, you are asked to choose four
   numbers
3. Then, leave the store area and fight some battles
4. Return to the store and talk to the orange Manillo again. He'll then check
   your card against the winning numbers
5. To get first prize, all four numbers on a ticket must match any of the five
   winning possibilities. To get second prize, the last three digits must match
   any of the three winning possibilities. To get third prize, the last two
   digits must match the one winning possibility.
