Wonder Boy in Monster Land (SMS) Climb Patches In the final stage of Wonder Boy in Monster Land, the Labyrinth of No End, there is a five screen long climb where the player must jump back and forward between two rising platforms. Any error in this segment sends the player back to the start of the stage, so the player must execute 25 near-perfect jumps in sequence to pass this obstacle. These three patches will shorten or remove the climb sequence: WBiML-NoClimb.ips removes the climb completely - the player will move directly from the room below the climb to the room above it. WBiML-Climb1Screen.ips shortens the climb to one screen instead of five. WBiML-Climb2Screens.ips shortens the climb to two screens. Because the climb consists of two alternating screen, this version retains all unique content but removes repetition. The patches were made using Lunar IPS and are intended to be applied to a Europe/USA ROM: CRC32: 8CBEF0C1 MD5: 8f8aaac492de96f2cfddb9d1a57dd979 SHA-1: 51715DB7A49A18452292DADB2BBA0108AA6D6402 The patches are not intended to be used together. The 1/2 screen versions will overwrite each other, and the No Climb version will override the other two, while having an incorrect checksum in the header. -May 2022
