Version 1.0 ----------- 1. Introduction. 2. What does the patch do? 3. Application instructions. 4. Known issues. 5. Contact. 1. Introduction. ________________ Hello, my name is David Mainwaring (antiheroforhire) and I've used Romhacking.net for years. I'm somewhat experienced in hacking, but have never contributed anything back. Most of what I end up doing is for personal use and probably not of interest to anyone else, but I decided to share a small change I did to Mega Man Soccer (U) because there doesn't really seem to be a lot love for this game. I can be honest and admit myself, I don't even love it - but I used to spend quite a few weekends growing up playing it with my brother. One thing that always irked me, was on a real SNES, you could only set 9 "S. Shoots" to each side without a Game Genie. Well, not anymore! 2. What does this patch do? _________________________ It simply changes a few bytes around. Instead of now having the usual 0-9 restrictions on "S. Shoots", you can set both player 1 and player 2 to having 0-99. I also changed the time value, so it can be set to 0-99 as well. This isn't as practical or as useful as 99 "S. Shoots", but it allows for slightly more customization on a real SNES or emulator without having to rely on various PAR codes to change or freeze either value upon start-up. 3. Application instructions. ____________________________ Make sure the patch and ROM are titled the same. The ROM should be NTSC (U), have a header, and if you check under properties have a size of 1,311,232 bytes (unzipped/uncompressed). Not tested on an unheadered ROM, but it'd probably work as well considering how minimal the changes are. No guarantees, though. 4. Known issues. ________________ None yet. 5.
