Obtain a legal copy of the Chrono Trigger (NTSC-USA) Super Nintendo ROM that matches the hashes above; how you do so is something that you can figure out yourself 2. Patch up with the 'Reptite Reshuffle' IPS patch included in this archive using Floating IPS. 3. Finally, just copy the fully-patched ROM to a flash cart (or be a lamer and use an emulator). **PATCH DETAILS** -------------------------------------- Chrono Trigger - Reptite Reshuffle v1.0 - IPS -13883 bytes -Created 21 Jul 2016 **LINKS** -------------------------------------- Floating IPS by Alero (newer than RHDN version): http://www.smwcentral.net/?p=section&a=details&id=11474 **TOOLS USED** -------------------------------------- Temporal Flux v3.01 by Geiger: http://geigercount.net/crypt/ **PATCH INFO** -------------------------------------- Whenever I play and replay Chrono Trigger, one part of the game that upsets me greatly was the Reptite Lair. In order to get all the rewards you are basically mandated to depend on RNG and savestates and emulator-specific features (or a ton of wasted time on a regular console). This is because the path you take is wholly dependant upon where the 'Weevil' enemies make their holes. If they make their hole in the right spot then you go along the specific path. If not, then you have to reload the game until they do it properly and cross your fingers that it works right or you climb the stairs back to the start to try again. Many players will just skip the extra rewards and not bother with them but I feel that this section in particular was terribly designed to be far too dependant on RNG to get where you need to go. There is no way to 'guarantee' that an enemy will make a hole in a specific spot. When doing emulation I fast-forward at 2x or even higher speeds and it still takes at least an entire MINUTE (at the accelerated speeds) for the Weevil to dig a hole at all! This patch modifies the 'Reptite Lair' section of Chrono Trigger to remove the need to depend on these damn Weevils to get your rewards. All reward treasure chests have been moved to the lower sections of the Reptite Lair. One of the rewards has been hidden away near a Cave Ape Enemy but I will leave that for you to discover! It does NOT require any Weevil holes to access! This patch IS compatible with my 'Reptite Reshuffle' OR 'Johnny Jackpot patches! Use one or the other, NOT both as they are mutually exclusive (modify the same data in different ways)! It may also be compatible with other patches that do NOT modify level layout or treasures but it is up to you to do testing! **CONTACT** -------------------------------------- Please feel free to contact me via e-mail if you have any bug reports, questions, or corrections: totallyfresh+RHDN AT protonmail DOT ch **END OF FILE**
