About

The letterbox / black border is drawn at the top and bottom of the screen. It was 
added by the developer to allow more processes to be carried out without slowdown.

The first game in the Magical Quest series didn't have a letterbox, and it looks much 
better not having a black border covering parts of the stage. 
In this hack, the letterbox is still enabled during some boss fights that use mode-7 
as otherwise the boss or mode-7 background will not appear.

Issues
------
The game is fully playable with this patch. 

The Letterbox is still enabled on the following stages, mostly involving mode-7:
Stage 1-4 Flying Pig boss - Boss does not appear without letterbox
Stage 2-5 Spider boss - Boss does not appear without letterbox
Stage 3-4 Snake boss - Top status bar disappears without letterbox
Stage 4-1 - When the stage scrolls up, the screen goes black without letterbox
Stage 4-4 Pirate boss - Mode-7 background does not appear without letterbox
Stage 5-3 Octopus boss - Status bar does not appear correctly without letterbox

Application Instructions

You need to apply this patch onto a non-interleaved ROM with NO Header (Rom 
Checksum: 2F36, CRC32: 32EEA1E9, Size: 2,097,152 bytes).  It works on the original 
Japanese rom, and on any of the English or other language translated roms.
