Super Mario RPG with Peach's name by Mateo This patch solely replaces all instances of Toadstool to Peach from the game, including the intro scene, which restores the graphics of her name from the original Japanese version. The name of the enemy Toadstool 2 has also been appropriately changed to Peach Clone. Super Mario RPG is the only Mario RPG (and Mario game with a considerable amount of text, Yoshi's Safari also uses the name Peach) in which Toadstool is used instead of Peach in-game, so it sticks out like a sore thumb. This hack changes that. Made as a minimalist alternative to my other, more elaborate hack, Super Mario RPG with modern naming conventions + corrected names. In case you prefer to just change Peach's name and leave the rest of the game as is for the exact original unaltered Woolsey experience using Peach's original Japanese/modern name. Should be compatible with any other patches that only make changes to the gameplay, graphics or sound. Instructions ------------- Rename the patch you want to use to the same name as your ROM or alternatively patch the ROM with your favorite IPS patching utility (this allows it to be used with other patches). Both Headered (.smc) and Unheadered (.sfc) versions are included for your convenience. The game's underlying structure is not altered significantly with this patch so you can continue using your existing saves and save states with it. Tools Used ----------- SNES9x (bsnes core) LazyShell GIMP HxD Lunar IPS Version History ---------------- v1.2 Fixes a single instance of Toadstool not being changed to Peach in the Level Up Screen, absolutely everything is completely changed now. v1.1 Makes the special text when Peach joins the party more centered so that it's exactly the same as it was with the unaltered name. Special Thanks --------------- Romhacking.net for hosting this patch and several other awesome patches. LazyShell editor authors for having made such a complete and robust editor. FuSoYa for the still great Lunar IPS patching utility. Nintendo/Square Enix for having made this classic. You, for trying out my patch :)
