The game itself is not included in this pack. You'll need to get an NDS file version of the game seperately.
This patch was tested on two different versions of "2208 - Puchi Eva - Evangelion at Game (J)(Independent).nds".
Make sure the game's NDS file is 32.0 MB (33,554,432 bytes) in size. You can do this by right-clicking on it and selecting Properties. The size is written on the General tab.

You also need a copy of xDelta. You can get it from here: http://www.romhacking.net/utilities/598/

To patch the game:
Open up the "xdeltaUI.exe" program.
From the first tab (Apply Patch), click "Open" next to the Patch option.
Select "PetitEvaENGv1.xdelta".
Next for the Source File, select the game's NDS file.
For the Output File, select a folder you'd like to save the patched game to. Name it "Petit EVA ENG.nds" and save
(The name doesn't really matter, just make sure the .nds is included)

If you get an error:
1) Try using PetitEvaENGv1alternate.xdelta as the patch instead.
2) Try using the forcepatch.bat. To do this, rename your .nds file to Puchi.nds. Put it, the patch, the xdelta exe files, and forcepatch.bat in the same folder. Run forcepatch.bat. It will open and close after a second, and it spit out a new file called PetitEvaENGv1_patched.nds, which you can now use.
These methods aren't guarenteed to work, and you may need to just find a different copy of the rom, but it /should/.

Now you should be able to run the patched game on either an emulator or your DS flashcart.
