   TBoV2001 is a somewhat interesting pirate original-ish Metal Slug knockoff
   (sort of - it's nowhere near as good, obviously) for the GBC - some (all?)
   of the graphics are ripped from the NGPC First and Second Mission games,
   the music probably came from some other GBC game (it reminds me of Super
   B-Daman Baku Gaiden for some reason) and the control... isn't actually that
   bad. Yeah, I know. It's a nice change from the likes of Rockman 8, Sonic
   Adventure 7 and Digimon 3 Crystal, all of which make the Adventures of
   Rocky and Bullwinkle seem like a masterpiece of game design. The
   connection to Vietnam doesn't appear to extend beyond the title, by the
   way, the game itself being set in the enigmatic "Region X".

   Version 1.0
   Everything done - that's the title and the text that appears before the
   first few levels. I have played it through to the end and no other Chinese
   text has appeared, so unless there's some secret (unlikely) it's complete.

  | Patching Instructions |

   Download an IPS patcher from somewhere like
   http://www.zophar.net/utilities/genutil.html , and apply bov01-10.ips to 
   a clean "Battle of Vietnam 2001" (aka Metal Slug 2001) ROM image. Do not
   apply it to any other translation or hack of this game.
   Also if you don't want the game to generate its seemingly useless save
   file, apply "bov-sram.ips" to either the patched or unpatched rom.
