Tomato Adventure - English Localization (v1.1.1) ================================================ This is an unofficial translation of Tomato Adventure, a Japanese RPG released in 2002 on the Game Boy Advance. Tomato Adventure was developed by AlphaDream and involved some staff from Super Mario RPG. Please support continued development of quality games like Tomato Adventure by buying copies of the game, games in the Mario & Luigi series, and other RPGs. Patching instructions --------------------- This patch is intended to be used on a ROM image of Tomato Adventure, which is not included. Please use a backup of your own legally purchased game for this purpose. As of writing, the game is still available to purchase online. Once you have the image, please use this tool to apply the patch: https://www.romhacking.net/patch/ Select your backup image in the ROM file field, then select the provided patch named "Tomato Adventure [en-us 1.1.1].bps" in the Patch file field. The "update" folder contains additional patch files for use on ROM images that have older versions of this patch applied. Select the patch file that matches your previous version for the Patch file field, instead. The tool will then validate your backup image's CRC32 checksum. If it detects an issue, please make a fresh backup of your game and try again. Once ready, click Apply patch to save the patched ROM image. You may use this in a Game Boy Advance emulator such as mGBA or no$gba, or use a device to play it on your physical GBA. Update history -------------- v1.1.1 * Clarified a Gimmick action prompt. * Dialogs with capital Vs now render without glitches. * Fixed graphics corruption on Gimmick screen with certain stats. v1.1.0 * Doubled text drawing speed in dialogs. * Fixed Abira's "rememer" typo before Mayonen Land. * Clarified Alesa's second AWE description. * Cleaned up minor line wrapping and spacing mistakes. * Reword line in Soy City to avoid unintended interpretation. Reporting issues ---------------- If you encounter issues while playing the game or notice a typo, please report details about the issue, including a save file, here: https://github.com/unknownbrackets/tomatotrans/issues Please note that no help will be given toward obtaining the game illegally. When reporting any issue, please be as detailed as possible including: 1. What happened specifically. 2. What you expected to happen instead. 3. How you encountered this bug and what you were doing beforehand. 4. A screenshot of the issue and save game close beforehand. 5. If a glitch, whether the glitch occurs in the unpatched copy too. Save compatibility ------------------ Saves from the Japanese version of the game can be loaded without any problem. You can also take your saves back to the Japanese version, but character names longer than four letters will display strangely. Saves from older versions of the patch are fully compatible. Credits ------- * AlphaDream for creating Tomato Adventure. * DeMille for a thorough and thoughtful translation of the entire script. * CrazyMLC for the logo and all other graphics editing. * Kingcom (and team) for armips, used heavily for modifying game code. * Martin Korth for no$gba and its debugger. * Tomato for the initial proof of concept patch. * Samda Knowe, White Reflection, and El Jefe for the initial idea. * otakuto for TomatoTool and its notes on some of the game's structures. * MansourSorosoro for the initial VWF data.
