About the Game ----------------- Mother 1 and 2 is a Re-release of the first 2 games in the Mother series. Mother 1 was for the NES, and Mother 2 for the SFC. Mother 2 was localized as Earthbound for the SNES in North America. Both games are turn-based RPG's that deal with the impact of an alien threat with kids that live in a small town. The second game even has Ness from Super Smash Bros. in it who is a boy genious with psychic powers. After a meteorite landed near his home he sets out to save the world. The GBA version has the complete games with no censorship of text or graphics, and makes for a very unique RPG game experience. Right now we are using texts from the NES and SNES versions to show the game can be done and to attract a translator and technical help. If you are interested, please go to the forum and send XeroBourne or ChrisRPG a Private Message. -------------- II. What's New -------------- v 0.5 - First release (28 February 2005) Please report any bugs or errors to www.RPGOne.net forums. ------------------ III. Patch Credits ------------------ XeroBourne - Project Leader, ROMhacker ChrisRPG - ROMhacker ---------------------------- IV. Application instructions ---------------------------- You will need to apply this patch onto a ROM image of Mother 1+2. Please do not ask us where to obtain this image, it can be done with a search of the Internet. However, it is required that this patch be applied to the ORIGINAL, unmodified ROM. To apply the image, you will need an IPS patching program. The easiest one to use would be IPSWin. You can get this and other programs from www.emuxhaven.net. Open this IPS program and apply the patch in this zip file (m12.ips) to the original Mother 1+2 ROM. After you patch the ROM, just start up your emulator, load up the ROM, and start playing! or you can use the auto-patch features of some GBA emulators. Please read the emulator's instructions on how to do that. -------------------- V. Known Issues/Bugs -------------------- - Part 2 only has some of the menus and names done. It is only to show it possible to do a nice translation for this game. - We are looking for some help to get a variable width font in part 2. - Part 2 also has some problems with images getting cut off at the bottom of the screen; fortunately, this does not include text. ------------- VI.
