Choro-Q 64 2 English Patch version 1.0 "Hey! Let's play Penny Racers!" Those would be the last words anyone would utter, Penny Racers being a somewhat forgettable and overall average game. The same cannot be said sequel for its sequel. Only released in Japan, it was even less remarkable than its predecessor. Its lack of depth and features does make it quick and simple to localize however, and you will now be able to enjoy some temporary amusement playing the title with a patch applying USA English. Unsurprisingly, the similarly named program xdelta can apply its own patches. The xdelta patch can only be applied to a ROM in native byte order (unbyteswapped). Using any other file will return a mismatched checksum error. Custom racers and tracks must be saved to a controller pak, and unfortunately it will use all 123 pages. Part collection plays a major role and arguably is necessary to finish it, so using a controller pak is recommended. There is transfer pak compatibility. Like the Japanese title, you will receive a 10kph boost if "Choro-Q Hyper Customizable GB" is present. This localization no longer tests for "Beast Wars" or "Pokemon Green". Instead, it will detect "Perfect Choro-Q" and all Pokemon titles except Crystal (those whose internal names start "POKEMON"). Please note though that you will not be able to save collected parts or customized racers. One major change was made: decorations no longer cost points to use. They have no impact whatsoever on the vehicles--even weight. Giving them costs was a perplexing design choice to say the least and one easily remedied. The title screen omits that "hacha-mecha" nonsense. This isn't the nineties. Admittedly the metallics on the title screen are not stellar; hopefully somebody touches that up sometime in the future. -Zoinkity
