================Jubei Quest=========================== ==================V1.00=============================== Genre: RPG Source language: Japanese Patch language: English Author: aishsha E-mail: aishsha@gmail.com/ Web-site: aishsha.blogspot.com ====================================================== Juvei Quest ====================================================== This is another Birthday game (one of my favorite Japanese developers of all time) I've been working on for a looooong time. Delays were mostly due to a hiatus I had to take in my hacking life, but the whole work on the project was also rather tedious and required A LOT of new code to be inserted for the game to look as it does now. Frankly speaking, this is perhaps my most favorite game on the NES, in general and not only because of lush graphics. The title contains an immense story, lovely characters, thoughtful turn-based battle system with many skills and abilities to use... Anyway, in my humble opinion, this game could easily compete with the heavyweights like Dragon Quest, were it translated (well, we all know how Namco treats its intellectual properties and this seems to be something that is rooted in their past.... To sweeten the pot - the game even came packaged with a table game, which is worth buying, by the way... The story itself unfolds in the Age of Sengoku of Ancient Japan attacked by some demonic force called "The Demonic Horde", being quite a loose interpretation of the famous one-eyed samurai - Yagyuu Juubei, one of the most romanticized figures in Japanese history who presumably lived during the second Shogun Tokugawa's rule. However there's much more than meets the eye here. I won't spoil the whole thing through, but you can trust that you'll face a lot of suprises and twists on your way. So, this is definitely not another "samurai boy" story. Enjoy the game and remember - go and buy the original, if you like the game. ====================================================== PATCHING INSTRUCTIONS ====================================================== We have included two patching options for this release. The standard IPS patch and the newer format BPS. If you are applying the IPS patch, the ROM must be expanded before patching. You can do it manually in a hex editor or use a program such as nflate to expand the PRG-ROM. Once that's done, apply the patch. For BPS, all you need to do is download beat and apply the patch and presto. (here's the link to the developer's websute: http://byuu.org/programming/beat/). Even though this translation is called Jubei Quest, the ROM is distributed as Juvei Quest so be aware of that. ====================================================== SPECIAL NOTICE ====================================================== There may be some slight misspellings in the game but otherwise it was immensily tested. Another token of my gratitude to all those who helped me with this one. I'd very grateful, if you send me reports about bugs or glitches found during gameplay, but please, do not forget to add some descriptions, savestates and names of emulators you use. (screenshots would be useful as well). ===================================================== Credits go to: aishsha - translation, hacking, testing. byuu - for developing a new patching utility.
