Genesis: Beyond the Revelation

On the 15-year anniversary of its original Japanese release, here is an unofficial English translation of Genesis, an obscure old game by Square for the NEC PC-8801. This may possibly be the first PC-8801 game ever translated. Genesis is a primitive RPG, reminiscent of the early Ultima games, about a post-apocalyptic world where the battle between good and evil has taken a hilarious twist. It is one of a few games that Square developed before Final Fantasy, when they were a far less serious company.


Simply apply the enclosed IPS patch to the original Genesis PC-8801 disk image (CRC32 = 6E131A26; filesize = 348848 bytes), and you're set.


V0.1 (01/01/2003):
- First public release.
- All menus and dialog translated.
- Corrected many of Square's spelling mistakes.
- Beginning and Ending Animation not yet translated.
