PS2 Master of Magic - v0.50 Patch August 21, 2015
This patch translates 46 out of the 75 total scenarios in the game. With this patch,
it is possible to finish the Lawful Campaign by descending to Hell and battling Satan.
Only the dialog for the Solider character has been translated.
Newly translated Scenarios in this patch:
Midgard:
Dell Desert, Gulf City, Dragon Protect, Sealed Castle
Asgard:
Heaven Zoo, Sky Bridge, The Old Archmage
Niflhelm:
Catacombs, Hermit Graveyard, Flame Dragon, Cops & Robbers, 3 Dark Sisters,
Land of Fire, Cursed Lake, Satan Tower
With this patch, I have accomplished my original translation goal for the game.
If I playthrough the game again, it will probably be the Neutral campaign where
I will use the Fairy or Amazon character as the Master. This will give me
access to all the Elysium Scenarios, which seem to be restricted to those
following the Neutral path.
PS2 Master of Magic - v0.40 Patch December 15, 2013
This patch translates 31 out of the 75 total scenarios. These scenarios
were selected based on a playthrough of the Law aligned Soldier character.
They are from the Midgard World where the campaign begins, Asgard, and later
Niflheim. Some additional Weapons and Magic items have been translated as they
have been encountered in the playthrough. Estimate 40% of the game has been
translated.
Note that all text in a scenario is not translated, only what I have encountered
while playing the Soldier, and later Dragon characters. The text is spread out
all over the place, so I would have to translate everything to be sure that I had
100% completed a scenario. I do not have the time or inclination to do this.
This patch fixes a serious error in the Risenheim Midgard scenario. Previously,
the Risenheim Army did not appear on the map, thus there was no way to
talk to Lister III and advance the story in the early game period to find out
what to do next.
Future patches will be released as each milestone of 15 additional scenarios
is translated.
Here is a list of the scenarios which have been partially translated in this patch:
Midgard:
Neburon Island, Unlock Seal, Mad King, Thief War, Ice & Snow Army, Tomboy Princess
Ghost Woods, Nita Vale, Fairy Island, Risenheim, Front Line, Two Fortresses,
Tonaha Mountain, Desert Merchant, Overlord Castle
Asgard:
Sky Gate, Vanaheim, Magic Sands, Bifrost's End, A Memorial, Wind Fort
Niflhelm:
Jotunheim, Cave of Trials, Major Fault, Darkest Underworld, Schwardheim,
Dungeon King II, New Moon Crazy, Death Vow, Cemetary Rogue
Elysium:
Elysium Field

PS2 Master of Magic - v0.20 Patch September 11, 2013
By Nebelwurfer HQ
Shin Master of Monsters Final EX is a turn based Fantasy strategy game
released by SystemSoft in Japan in 2010 for the PS2. PC and PSP versions
also exist. The game features a campaign with interconnected scenarios
that you advance through in a Norse mythology setting.
This patch contains 2 files. The patch file was created with ImageDiff,
and only translates 5 scenarios from the opening part
of the campaign. There is also a lot of supporting material translated, such as
dialog box text, Monster Names, Common Items and all the High Magic Spells.
For Weapon names, Armor names, Magic Weapon Names and Rare Items, I have
only translated the ones I have encountered so far in the game. Also I have
no idea how to locate or modify the graphics such as the Title Screen menu buttons,
so this will have to wait.
This teaser patch lets you jump into the game and see if it interests you.
All of the Tutorial scenarios are translated, which should give you
a good grounding in the game mechanics.
Note that only the dialog tree for the Soldier Character is translated.
There are 11 characters in the game, and it would take too long for me
to translate and playtest all those different dialog trees. Perhaps
someone else will be motivated enough to fully translate the game
at some later date. I also can't guarantee that I will translate all
the dialog text in a scenario, but will attempt to translate all the
obvious text, such as when you visit villages.
To use the patch, first get the PS2 Master of Monsters Final EX ISO file.
This is for v1.0 of the game, which was released ion Aug 19, 2010 in Japan.
The iso file should be 4,420,501,504 bytes in length. To verify that you have
the correct .iso file, you can compare it to the following checksums:
CRC32 - 5A7B64AE
SHA1 - 4EEB061F94018FDD1D9211F9B7D241AF1CE45BB5
SHA256 - 55230F82E4F9F54EF4A7C9DBB174B64B76140248C223AE7409E17E993339A1F6
MD5 - 3450164470579BDEBD19B152266B0D83
Use ImageDiff to apply the patch to the .iso file. Run ImageDiff GUI. Place
the patch file in the patch field, the original .iso file in the Foreign
Image field, and the new translated .iso file that you want to create in
the New Image field. After the patch completes, you can run the new .iso
file with a PS2 emulator like pcsx2. However the bios should be Japanese
in order to get the image to load and run.
