=== Choro Q3 English Translation v0.01 by M. Z. === -------------------------------------------------------------------- * This patch translates to English the game Choro Q3 for the original PlayStation. * It was hacked and translated by me, M. Z. * If you want to read more about my possible future projects, I have a blog here: http://www.mz-blog.com.ar/ * If you want to report bugs, help me with a re-translation or encourage me to translate Choro Q2, email me at: mauzus@gmail.com === Instructions === 1. Get an ISO of Choro Q3, the original version (it was re-released two more times.) 2. Use PPF-O-Matic to apply the PPF patch to the ISO. === Changelog === v0.01 (2011-10-04) * Initial release. === History === I bought the game back in 1998 and fell in love with it instantly. Although I was able to beat it many times, I never managed to find the 100 events, so the idea of translating it started haunting my mind (and, also, the idea of learning some Japanese first, by the way. :P) Work on this translation started back in the year 2009, although all of the work was only made in around one month. Most of the other time I was doing related stuff: reading lots of documents, hacking other games to practice things and learning Japanese. I haven't tested this patch on real hardware, because I'm too lazy to unpack my PSOne and burn a CD. And since I don't even have any working memory cards anymore, I didn't even thought about it. If I ever make a v0.02 patch with a better translation, I'll make sure it also works on hardware; for now, you should only be safe by playing it on an emulator. === Known Issues === * After a trial, the text at the top should read "Results", instead of "リザルト". I was not able to find the file for this image, although I found two files that had "リザルト", but none of them were actually used by the game. * The two-player golf mini-game has some untranslated words, because I couldn't find the images for them on the disc. ("ベスト スコア" = "Best Score", "スタート" = "Start", "スコアを見る" = "See Score", "トータル" = "Total") * Text-input screen looks really bad. I'm not sure about what to do with it. * My English and Japanese are horrible. === Thanks === * Kingcom, for releasing his "ARMIPS assembler". It's a great tool, and I probably couldn't have made this translation without it. * Gemini, for giving me permission to use his well-known thin font. Also, reading his posts on ROMhacking.net was very helpful to understand many things related to PSX hacking. * rveach, for TIMViewer, still the best tool for editing TIMs (although it doesn't support many of the TIM formats that this game uses. :P) * CUE, for his psx-mode2.exe, which makes updating/adding files in ISOs very easy. * Agemo and zHAOsILi, for their modified PCSX versions. * ROMhacking.net, of course. I got all of the tools and documents thanks to this website. Maybe it will host this patch, too. * Tamsoft, for making Choro Q, Q2 and Q3; some of the most entertaining games of all time.
