Tobal 2 Patch 1.01 Beta ============================ This patch fixes the "title screen" menu and quest "status screen" widths as they were too small for the english translated text, this has not been extensively tested in the quest mode, originaly the "status screen" menu only showed 4 characters long, the 5th being cropped, it's showing 5 now, if this menu has larger text at some point in the game it should be patched again, please let me know. I modified the quest bottom "status" menu too so the font looks a bit better and aligned text that got misaligned in the translation. This patch is in no way intended to infringe upon Squaresoft's copyrights. This patch is not for sale, but is provided for free and may not be sold in any format. Please do not distribute illegal copies of the game (either ISO, BIN or burned CD-Rs). It is hard to find, but is usually available at either Yahoo Japan or eBay. Requests for patched or unpatched ISOs will be ignored. Revision History ---------------- 1.00B - 100% complete beta. First "official" release of the game patch. See notes below regarding known deficiencies. Future (Potential) Enhancements ---------------------- - Some text cleanup is necessary to make sure everything fits in the appropriate text boxes. I just need to find them all. Known issues ------------ - Some menu text slightly spills over their background boxes. The two places I've seen it are the title screen ("Tournament") and the status screen ("Equip"). Neither were chopped off and barely overflow, so I'm leaving them as-is. - Some potions names had to be cut down and I used the closest thing that my dictionary could come up with, so yes Virginia, there is a "Weed Potion". - I'm debating about changing the names of some potion effects like "Muteki", "Tetsujin", etc that show up at the top of the screen, but since they show up in Romaji and the potion name and description in English, I think I may leave them alone. It's also a little more useful if you're reading any of the FAQs on the game floating around to leave them be. - Since I can't beat the game on the laptop and I haven't gotten a good burn yet, I can't vouch for all of the text towards the end. In particular, there's some that looks like it may not have ever been used in-game. In some cases, the translation didn't look right until I actually saw it in context. Contact ------- If you use this patch, I ask that you email me at either HairRaiser(at)attbi.com or BloodyBride(at)attbi.com just so I get a warm fuzzy feeling that there are people enjoying the game. Bug reports can be sent there as well. Please be as descriptive as possible. Thanks ------ - Squaresoft/Dream Factory for making a fun little game. The original was great and the first "true" 3D fighter. The sequel is a vast improvement and I'm glad I could put this patch together. - Whirlpool (http://donut.parodius.com/), RPG Dimension (http://rpgd.emulationworld.com/) and Phantasian Productions (http://cless.lfx.org/) for various help and message boards.
