============================================ | NEKKETSU OYAKO (PLAYSTATION) | | English Translation Patch 1.0d | | ©2004 PentarouZero | | pentarouzero@hotmail.com | | http://www.pentarouzero.com/ | ============================================ ============ | The Game | ============================================================================= Nekketsu Oyako is an early Playstation game released by Technosoft, a Japanese company most well-known for the Thunder Force series. It's also a game that is sometimes mistaken for a Kunio game, since it's called Nekketsu and made by a company with a very similar name to Technos. The game itself is a fairly generic 2D Final Fight clone, with a few fucked-up moments (like being swallowed by a whale at the end of the first level, and spending half of the second fighting boxers and octopi in its stomach). The story, as far as I can work out from the game, is that the Big Black corporation has done something and it's up to the Hibino family to save the day. Thus begins the ass-kicking. ============================================================================= ================== | Status/History | ============================================================================= Version 1.0d Xdelta version, fixes some problems (like crashing in level 4 and the insane size of the patch) resulting from the limitations of IPS. Version 1.0 Everything is translated, except for the "Nekketsu Oyako" kanji in the intro which was intentionally left in Japanese. ============================================================================= ========================= | Patching Instructions | ============================================================================= You need an original Nekketsu Oyako (aka Hot Blooded Family) disc image in bin/cue format - I've only tested it on one, but there may be variations out there, so I can't guarantee the patch will work with every image. Apply "oyako10d" to the .bin file using xdelta as follows: xdelta patch [patch name] [original ISO name] [output ISO name] For example, xdelta patch oyako10d oyakoj.bin oyako10d.bin And don't patch it over the old version, obviously. Then either burn the image or just play it in an emulator, and it _should_ work. And if you didn't already know, the resulting CD will *not* play on a real Playstation unless you have some means of playing CDR PSX games. You can get xdelta from http://www.eng.uwaterloo.ca/~ejones/software/xdelta-win32.html (Windows) or http://sourceforge.net/projects/xdelta (Unix). A Mac version may or may not be available, you'll have to look for it. ============================================================================= ================ | Known Issues | ============================================================================= None. ============================================================================= ================= | Patch Credits | ============================================================================= ROM Hacking, Graphics: PentarouZero Translation: Al LaPrade ============================================================================= ========================= | Original Game Credits | ============================================================================= © 1994 Technosoft =============================================================================
