SNES Ranma 1/2 RPG: Treasure of the Red Cat Gang Translation Patch by Naruto and The Ranma Team ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Disclaimer and Intro: ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Original Ranma 1/2 RPG Rom Copyright Rumiko Takahashi/Shogakukan/Kitty/Fuji TV Toho/Shogakukan Productions. Ranma 1/2 RPG English translation Patch A Co-Production of Naruto and The Ranma Team. Neither Naruto nor The Ranma Team take any responsibility whatsoever for what the user does with this patch, nor accepts any liabilities for consequences to the user and/or his/her computer. This patch is for educational purposes only, and is not offered for sale under any circumstances. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Read Me FIRST: ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Snes9x is currently the best emulator to use with the RanmaRPG rom. If you use ZSNES, most versions of the emulator will crash sometimes after battle. If you encounter this problem, turning the sound off should prevent it reoccurring. For versions v0.990 and higher, you will need to disable the sound *emulation* rather than the sound itself. If you want sound, consider using Snes9x. This game has required a LOT of technical modification. It's possible that we may have overlooked something in the beta testing. If you notice ANYTHING amiss, please let us know. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Patch Usage: ------------------------------------------------------------------------ WARNING: DO NOT PATCH OVER AN OLD PATCH (USE A FRESH JAPANESE ROM IN SMC FORMAT). WARNING: SAVESTATES FROM THE UNPATCHED GAME (OR OLDER PATCHED VERSIONS) WILL NOT WORK WITH THIS PATCH! Saverams are fully compatible, however. So if you save inside the game itself (using "Save" on the main game menu) it will work when loaded into the patched game. To patch the game: Get a IPS patching utility (e.g. IPS.EXE or SNESTOOL) For IPS.EXE, (assuming that the rom is called "ranmarpg.smc", of course) use: IPS ranmarpg.smc ranmarpg.ips SNESTOOL is menu driven, simply select the "Use IPS" option and follow the prompts. For other tools you should read their documentation. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Release History: ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Version 1.00 - 3/9/2000 100% translated version of RanmaRPG. He programmed the script dumper, dumped the dialogue, coded many tools for this game, and did a lot of hacking. In the end, some of his work duplicated Pelrun. We are VERY appreciative of the labor performed by both of these fine hackers. Big Thanks to Shadow for allowing Necrosaro to continue his work. Though, when Pelrun and our group joined forces, nothing was kept from that work except a couple of the translations and the font. We still appreciate it, nonetheless. There were several translators on this project, and I'm not sure if I remembered them all. My hotmail account got stripped, and I lost some records. If you helped out in any way on this project, and were not mentioned, get in touch with me. I MUST and WILL give everyone credit who deserves it. It peeves me when I overlook contributors! -Taskforce and Wildbill Two and a half years after I started, I'm finished. I'm going to bed... -Pelrun ------------------------------------------------------------------------ End of Info File ------------------------------------------------------------------------
