Undeadline: Genjuuki English Translation Patch History ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- 071031 Initial release Overview ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- This is a translation patch for the X68000 game "Undeadline: Genjuuki", which was developed by T&E Soft. Applying the Patch ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hopefully included with this document is a patch file in the IPS format. You can use any program that supports that file format to apply this translation patch to your disk image. Undeadline: Genjuuki is a three-disk game. The program disk must be present in the first drive at all times -- this is the disk that the patch is for. Playing the Game ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Once you've patched the system disk, simply load it up in your favorite X68000 emulator or write it to a floppy disk to use on a real X68000 system. The other disks will need to be inserted into the second drive during gameplay depending on the stage being played. To save the high scores, insert a disk into the second floppy drive and select the save option in the configuration menu. Loading the scores is accomplished the same basic way. Q & A ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Q: This patch doesn't work! What do I do? A: Try asking yourself whether you really need the patched version. The game is fully playable without it. You may miss out on some enjoyment, but due to the inherent difficulties involved with disk images, it may not be worth your time and effort to try to get it working. All relocations, including for the patches, are done by a bit of stub code placed in front of the original. It uses lots of multi-layered dynamic patching, which got confusing. Some of it was unnecessary and I would caution against using that technique if it can be avoided, even though it simplifies other things. The credits were patched normally, taking advantage of string optimizations to keep the size in range.
