_ ZUGYA English Translation Patch History ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- 071112 Initial release Overview ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- This is a translation patch for the X68000 game "ZugyA", which was developed by Sprite and is based on the game Bosconian. Applying the Patch ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hopefully included with this document is a patch file in the IPS format. You can use any program that supports that file format to apply this translation patch to your disk image. The most common disk image of ZugyA was modified from the original and is NOT compatible with this patch. One way to identify it is to check the configuration. If it isn't set to 31/3/3/0/0/RAM it's definitely not compatible. Playing the Game ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Once you've patched the disk image, simply load it up in your favorite X68000 emulator or write it to a floppy disk to use on a real X68000 system. The game can be installed to a hard drive by executing the INSTALL.BAT file. Please don't attempt this unless you really know what you are doing. There are very few practical reasons to do this on an emulator. Q & A ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Q: This patch doesn't work! What do I do? A: Try asking yourself whether you really need the patched version. The game is fully playable without it. You may miss out on some enjoyment, but due to the inherent difficulties involved with disk images, it may not be worth your time and effort to try to get it working. Q: ZugyA? A: That's how their website renders it. The manual has it in all caps with a macron over it. Q: Why is the title screen messed up? A: Emulator deficiency. Easiest fix is to just quit the emulator and start it again. If ZugyA isn't the first program run, the title screen may have garbage on it. This occurs with the unpatched disk as well. Not all emulators exhibit this behavior. Q: Why do I see some lines duplicated in the manual on rare occasions? A: It's a bug in the file reader code. You probably won't see it unless you scroll back and forth a lot. The problem can also occur in the original. Q: Why is this game so looooong?? A: This game is very long (50 stages), but its self-proclaimed purpose is not simply to finish it, but to try for the highest score possible. (Having fun would probably be acceptable as well.)
