======================================================= ==================Lunatic Fantasy====================== =====================V1.01============================= Genre: Visual Novel/Adventure Source language: Japanese Platform: Sharp X68000 Patch language: English Author: Pennywise/Eien Ni Hen E-mail: yojimbogarrett@gmail.com http://yojimbo.eludevisibility.org/ ====================================================== Lunatic Fantasy ====================================================== Background: Lunatic Fantasy is a really obscure game for the Sharp X6800. It was never commercially released and is in fact a doujin game by Studio Light Cross. Unfortunately I've been able to find out very little information about the game or the developer. The only thing I can say for sure is that it appears to be twenty or so years old. The game itself is a standard fantasy visual novel game in the traditional vein, but there are some RPG-esque battle segments that give the game a little diversity. From what I understand, most doujin games from that era usually featured some adult content in the form of nudity and sex scenes, but none of that is featured. However, the content in this game is not for everyone and features heavy lesbian themes, but never really makes itself inappropriate. I personally found it humorous, others may find it charming etc. To each his/her own. ====================================================== Version History ====================================================== V 1.0 - Initial Release V 1.01 - Maintenance release that fixes a small oversight with the text ====================================================== Notes from the translator ====================================================== If I could describe Lunatic Fantasy in one word, it would be "incomplete." Several components of the game are never expounded upon (the individually-named forest spirits, the encounter with Lilrath, the light spirit's bizzare dialogue near the end), and there are also portions of text in the script that went unused in the game. While translating the script I couldn't help but think the publisher had intended to make a sequel; if that's the case, it's a shame it never happened. Lunatic Fantasy's script is full of dense, flowery prose about feelings, sensations, and emotions. One of the challenges for me was to fashion the script into a comprehensive story in English and to rewrite it so that it wouldn't sound repetitive or stilted. Translation-wise this game was lots of fun, but also a huge challenge. Overall I enjoyed the game's plot, but I was a little surprised about the lack of nudity (it is an X68k game) and the heavy lesbian overtones. I was curious to find more information on Studio Light Cross and maybe determine who their target audience was, but alas, I couldn't turn up any info on the game itself or the publisher. Still, this game has a very intriguing story and was a joy to play. ====================================================== Patching Instructions ====================================================== Depending on your comfort level, I have included several options on how to access, create or get an English version of the game. The easiest way is to download the English image from the link I provided. If you'd like to patch the game from an unmodified image, you can do that. Just find the image with this md5: E8CB4DBCF80176A7979672F8245562C3 and apply the patch. If you are having trouble finding the right image, I have also provided a link the proper image you can apply the patch to. http://yojimbo.eludevisibility.org/Stardust_Crusaders_Files/complete/X68K/Lunatic%20Fantasy/Lunatic Fantasy v2.0.rar http://yojimbo.eludevisibility.org/Stardust_Crusaders_Files/complete/X68K/Lunatic%20Fantasy/Lunatic Fantasy v2.0e.rar We would be highly grateful, if you find some time to contact us with proposals or corrections. Information on found bugs or corrections would be highly appreciated. P.S. Support the game industry by buying used games! Even if the money doesn't go to the developers directly, as the games become rare and harder to find, the price goes up, and people become more inclined to buy new releases "while they can!" ====================================================== Credits go to: Pennywise - project leader, testing Eien Ni Hen - translation, testing Hemiasinus - tools, hacking All those who contributed into this process. ====================================================== Compiled by Pennywise.
